The draft documents for peer review at the SCA IPR and Licensing Excellence Gateway Workshop on Monday 3 November 2008 have now been removed as they will undergo further revision following the peer review session.
Further documents will be available here shortly. If you have specific comments or enquiries relating to the SCA and IPR please contact Naomi Korn at naomi@naomikorn.com
A peer review workshop for a new SCA Standards Guide will be held on Wednesday, 3 December, 10.30-15.00 at the JISC Meeting Rooms in London. The event will bring together some of the UK’s leading experts in this field – providing an opportunity to share ideas and network in addition to being a “critical friend” to the guide.
The guide has been developed to add context to the JISC Information Environment Standards Catalogue generally and some key standards that affect cultural heritage, health, education/research and public service broadcasting specifically. A DRAFT copy of the guide is available and it would be appreciated if you could consider sending a standards expert to peer review the document. This will include identifying any gaps and recommending any additional supplementary work in this area. The SCA will, in cases where delegates cannot fund travel, reimburse standard class rail travel and economy class flights to London. A buffet lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
The Strategic Content Alliance (SCA) works with public sector bodies across the UK to develop a framework to share and access information. The SCA is currently running a series of workshops in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland to incorporate the regional challenges into this framework.
In this podcast Rebecca O’Brien catches up with Stuart Dempster, Director of the SCA, about the alliance’s achievements and what the next steps will be.
In the new edition of the SCA newsletter, find out why search engine marketing is crucial for the digital heritage sector in a Q+A with the Canadian Heritage Network; discover how the SCA is working with the BBC and other partners on CenturyShare, an innovative time-based concept to share public sector content; get up to speed on the e-content related research findings in Report Watch, plus the latest digital content news from around the world, SCA news in brief and dates for your diary.
This workshop will peer review an Audience Analysis Toolkit for public sector bodies which has been developed for the SCA by Curtis and Cartwright. The workshop will review the documentation produced, including any recommendations for new work and will provide an excellent networking opportunity to meet experts in the field.
