Invitation to the JISC Developer Days (dev8D) for software developers

JISC are putting on an event called JISC Developer Days (dev8D) for software developers working in all areas of higher education. The event is designed to give developers the chance to learn and practice new skills, meet other people working in similar areas and to take part in discussions led by experts from higher education and industry. Audience analysis workshop: registration closed

The Strategic Content Alliance Audience Analysis workshop on 29 January 2010 is now fully booked and registration has closed. Another session will be held in July (date TBC);  please contact Verena Weigert at programme-support@jisc.ac.uk to be put on the waiting list.

IPR news: Second IPO consultation on copyright exceptions

The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has announced that it will be opening up a second consultation regarding exceptions to copyright of specific relevance to education and research.  http://www.ipo.gov.uk/about/press/press-release/press-release-2009/press-release-20091211.htm. The consultation is here: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/consult-gowers2.pdf and includes wording for a draft statutory instrument.

Sustaining Digital Resources: new Funders Preface version

A new version of Sustaining Digital Resources is now available with a revised Executive Summary to give a more nuanced interpretation of the findings for funders, as well as a succinct listing of ‘key findings’ and ‘factors influencing sustainability’, which are particularly pertinent to those working in funding bodies.
