JISC are putting on an event called JISC Developer Days (dev8D) for software developers working in all areas of higher education. The event is designed to give developers the chance to learn and practice new skills, meet other people working in similar areas and to take part in discussions led by experts from higher education and industry. The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has announced that it will be opening up a second consultation regarding exceptions to copyright of specific relevance to education and research. http://www.ipo.gov.uk/about/press/press-release/press-release-2009/press-release-20091211.htm.
