The Strategic Content Alliance (SCA) works with public sector bodies across the UK to develop a framework to share and access information. The SCA is currently running a series of workshops in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland to incorporate the regional challenges into this framework.
In this podcast Rebecca O’Brien catches up with Stuart Dempster, Director of the SCA, about the alliance’s achievements and what the next steps will be.
In this podcast, recorded at the SCA Home Nations forum in Cardiff last month, Rebecca O’Brien speaks to Naomi Korn, the SCA’s Intellectual Property Rights consultant, about why IPR is important.
Naomi explains that IPR is a major preoccupation and consideration for the SCA because it affects the flow of content to users. She discusses risk management approaches to dealing with orphan works and pockets of excellence where organisations have found pragmatic pathways to dealing with IPR.
The Strategic Content Alliance is a three year JISC-funded initiative committed to delivering a co-ordinated framework of principles and best practice for the provision of online e-content for UK citizens. Find out more
