The Strategic Content Alliance and JISC NetSkills are holding a number of FREE two-day workshops on maximising the effectiveness of your online presence. They will take place over the next two months in Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester and London.
These workshops address the importance issue of search engine optimisation and many related issues. Participants will gain a perspective on how basic guidelines, simple content planning, social media activities and use of metadata, all contribute to the effectiveness of a website.

The Strategic Content Alliance is delighted to announce a series of workshops throughout 2010 aimed at senior policymakers and practitioners involved in the delivery of online content and services over the internet. The events will be held on a monthly basis at the JISC London offices and will deliver enhanced professional understanding in a number of key areas from intellectual property rights to ‘managing the data deluge’.
A full timetable of thematic workshops will be available in the new year, but the inaugural Audience Analysis workshop shall be held on 29th January 2010 (see below for details). Please monitor the Alliance blog, website and twitter feeds for updates.

The Strategic Content Alliance has developed a comprehensive range of publications covering some of its key areas of work. These are now available to download as PDFs, for free, from the Publications area of the blog (the link can also be found in the ‘page menu’ on the right). There you will find Audience Research and IPR toolkits, including guides, navigations maps, briefing papers and factsheets. Publications relating to other areas of the Alliance’s work will be added in the near future.

The heavily oversubscribed Strategic Content Alliance (SCA) and Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) three-day course on ‘SEO and Improving Your Online Presence’ earlier this month was a great success. Feedback comments from the participants (above) included:

Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) is looking for three organisations to take part in a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) case study as part of its Strategic Content Alliance initiative.
